Precision Engineering Inc. (Precision) is a multidiscipline full service engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) company based in Edmonton providing professional services to the oil and gas industry. From project conception to completion, meeting the needs and requirements of our clients is our priority. Our commitment and pride in our field of expertise is evidenced by our thirty year history and continued corporate growth. Precision has earned a well-deserved reputation for its efficiency in providing quality services to our clients.

Precision manages facility and pipeline projects in the upstream oil and gas industry. The Senior Engineer will be responsible for delivering quality engineering and consulting services to our clients on projects in a cost-effective manner. The engineer must be able to design facilities and pipelines according to current applicable codes and regulations. In addition, these projects can range from conceptual to detail engineering. Responsibilities would also include client relationship development, proposal development, regulatory engagement and project engineering.

We are currently looking for a detail oriented person who is passionate about engineering and has the work ethic and drive to succeed in a fast paced in environment.

Responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Project management which includes, cost, scope and schedule.
  • Preparation of engineering deliverables including calculations, data sheet, specifications and drawings
  • Requesting price quotations from vendors
  • Creating material requisition forms and purchase orders
  • Travel to various client sites
  • Mentor junior engineers as required

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution
  • Registered as a P.Eng or P.Tech.(Eng)
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in an applicable field is required. Preferably in Natural Gas and/or Heavy Oil processing.
  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to prioritize and plan work
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Proficient with ASME, API and CSA piping codes

We are currently looking for detail orientated person who has the work ethic and drive to succeed in a fast-paced team environment that pushes people to learn and grow in their career.

Responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Design drafting of PFD, P&ID and plot plans
  • Generating general arrangements, piping isometrics, spool drawings, and line lists for process equipment, pipelines and facilities
  • 3D modeling for both structural and piping elements of a site
  • Pile and structural layouts and detailing
  • Creating parts of or entire drawing packages of excellent quality
  • Reviewing and understanding of project specifications specific to each individual projects
  • Communicating and interfacing with project engineers on a regular basis
  • Checking and back checking of various drawings as required

Qualifications:

  • 3 years minimum experience relevant to our scope of work
  • Engineering Design and Drafting Technology Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to prioritize and plan work
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written with strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and individually
  • Experience using Cadworx and AutoCAD is considered an asset
